Nothing is more important than the health and safety of all that visit our theatres. To ensure that we keep everyone as safe as is reasonably possible the Capitol Theatre has introduced an array of COVID Safety protocols. These requirements may change based on advice from NSW Health, so please be sure to visit this page prior to your visit for the most up to date information for the latest information. MANDATORY VACCINATION: It is a requirement that all patrons aged 16+ have received two doses of a COVID-19 Vaccination before attending the theatre (unless medically exempt). Children under the age of 16 are welcome to attend and do not require vaccination, however must be accompanied
MANDATORY MASKS: Masks are mandatory for those aged 12+ at all times you are in the theatre, including for the duration of the performance. If you do not have a mask, we will provide you with one free of charge. If you have an exemption from wearing a mask, you will be required to present this to our staff prior to entry.
IF YOU ARE UNWELL, STAY HOME: If you or someone in your group have a confirmed or suspected case of COVID-19, are awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test, or have been directed to stay home by NSW health please do not attend your performance. You should continue to stay home and follow government guidelines. We have a flexible ticket policy so that you can rebook your tickets into another performance. If this applies to you, please contact Ticketmaster no later than 10am on the day (for a matinee performance) & by midday (for an evening performance) at the latest and we will work with you to exchange your tickets for a future performance (subject to availability). VENUE CHECK-IN: All patrons and their guests will be required to Check In to the theatre using the Service NSW QR code. Please have the latest version of the Service NSW app downloaded on your phone.
CAPACITY LIMITS & SEATING CONFIGURATION: The Capitol Theatre may play up to 100% capacity at each performance. Patrons may be seating in our regular seating configuration with no physical distancing between seats.
ARRIVAL TIMES: Our foyers will open 1 hour prior to the start of the show and you will have a specified arrival window. Please help us by arriving at the theatre at your specified time. See our arrival times here.
AUDITORIUM ACCESS: Our auditorium doors will open 45 minutes prior to show time to allow plenty of time for you to move safely to your seat. Once you have purchased food & beverage, merchandise and visited the restrooms, we ask that you move swiftly to your seat to avoid crowding in the foyers.
QUEUING & MOVING AROUND THE THEATRE: To assist with social distancing, we strongly encourage you to stay in your allocated seat, or move swiftly back to your allocated seat once you have used the foyer amenities. When you move around the theatre foyers, please follow the signs and directions of our theatre team.
NO CLOAKROOM: At this time, it is not safe to offer cloakroom services. Therefore, please only bring handbags and satchels that are smaller than an A4 piece of paper to the theatre.
THEATRE BARS: Theatre and auditorium bars will be open, however we encourage you to purchase your items and make your way to your seats before you consume them. The momentary removal of masks for consumption of food & beverage is permitted.
CASHLESS: All of our outlets are cashless, and we can only accept contactless payments at our bars, box office and merchandise shops.
SANITISE, SANITISE, SANITISE: We will have hand sanitising stations located at several points of the theatre for your use. Please make sure to use these regularly during your visit.
CONTINUOUS CLEANING: Our theatre foyers and auditorium receive a professional deep clean after every performance, and our professional cleaning staff will remain on site throughout the performance to constantly clean washrooms, touchpoints and high traffic areas.
COVID MARSHALS ARE THERE TO HELP: Our COVID marshals and ushers will be onsite throughout the event to monitor everyone’s safety, and to assist you in any way they can. If you feel uncomfortable at any time, please speak to one of our friendly staff who will assist you.
