What time do I need to arrive before a show?

At least 15-30 minutes before the performance starts – or earlier if you would like to have a drink in one of the theatre’s licensed bars.

What if I’m late and the performance has started?

Live theatre has a ‘lock-out’ policy; a period after the curtain goes up when late-comers are not permitted to enter the auditorium. Lock-out periods are set by the production and vary from show to show.

Is there somewhere safe I can leave my suitcase?

Yes. We offer a free cloakroom service in the downstairs foyer.

Is there a dress code?

Many people dress up for the theatre to make it a special occasion, but smart casual is fine as well.

How do I get there from Central Station?

Take the Eddy Avenue exit and cross Belmore Park to the intersection. Walk past Gloria Jean's to the front of the building - it’s a five minute walk.

What time does the performance finish?

The Addams Family is approximately 2 hours 35 minutes (including a 20 minute interval).

Can we bring takeaway food or bottles of champagne into the auditorium?

No. We don’t allow food or drinks to be brought into the theatre from outside. Glasses and glass bottles are not permitted in the auditorium. We have bars in the theatre that provide a wide range of refreshments suitable for the auditorium. Our ice-cream vendor will come into the auditorium during interval.

Where do I collect my tickets from?

Our box office is open two hours before the show to allow you to collect your tickets. You will need to provide identification and present the credit card used to purchase the tickets.

Is there an ATM near the theatre?

We have an ATM conveniently located inside our foyer at the theatre.

Can I bring a small child to sit on my lap?

Everyone attending must have a ticket, including children sitting on your lap under the age of two* (a ‘babe-in-arms’ ticket is usually free and can be obtained from our box office on the day of the performance). Some shows are not suitable for small children; please contact us on 9320 5000 to find out the babe-in-arm policy and age recommendation for the show that your are attending. If a child becomes upset they will need to be taken out to the foyer so as not to disrupt the performance.

* Scooby-Doo Live! Musical Mysteries requires children over 12 months to have their own seat.

Will my child be able to see the stage?

The seating in the theatre is raked for excellent sight lines to the stage. We have booster cushions available from our cloakroom for small children free of charge.

I am visually impaired, where should I sit?

For closer seating to the Stage we recommend sitting in the front of the Stalls. The distance between the centre seat in the specified row and stage (measured from the safety curtain) is:

Stalls, Row AA  = approximately 6 meters
Stalls, Row D  = approximately 12 meters
Stalls, Row H =  approximately 16 meters
Dress Circle, Row A  = approximately 19.5 meters

Stalls seating starts to gradually incline from Row B right to the back of the Stalls. Patrons will be at eye level with the Stage at around Row E-G.

I have difficulty with stairs, where should I sit?

Purchase tickets in any location in the Stalls and there will only be a few stairs to negotiate. Our Ushers are also very helpful, so please ask them for assistance.
