There is a pick up and drop off point in front of the theatre on Campbell Street.

Wheelchair and Transfer Seating

Stalls Row WWW is a raised platform section reserved for wheelchair bookings. It offers good views of the stage and can accommodate a companion.

If you are able to transfer from a wheelchair/mobility scooter into a theatre seat you may wish to book an aisle seat in the Stalls. Our ushers will assist by storing your wheelchair and bringing it to you at interval and the end of the show. Wheelchair and mobility scooter access is easily available in the Stalls and very limited in the Dress Circle.

Limited Mobility or Trouble with Stairs

If you have trouble negotiating stairs, please book your seats in the Stalls. There is ramp access available via Door 2 or Doors 3-5 only have approx. 4 steps (with acess to a handrail). See our Stalls seating map here. There are also select seats in the Dress Circle with minimal stairs located near Door 6, if you have tickets near Door 6, you should see an usher before the show for access. Please note, most of the seats in the Dress Circle have many stairs to negotiate, see Dress Circle map here.

Wheelchair Bookings

Stalls Row WWW is a raised platform section reserved for wheelchair bookings. These seats can be booked by emailing us to request a call back. Our Box Office will call you to complete your booking as soon as possible, between the hours of Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm.

Companion Card Bookings

Companion Card holders can book by emailing us to request a call back. Our Box Office will call you to complete your booking as soon as possible, between the hours of Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm. If you are wanting to make a last minute on the day booking for a Saturday or Sunday performance, please check ticket availability online and purchase in person at our box office before the show. *Companion card bookings are not available on packaged seats.

  • Accessible Toilet

    Accessible toilets are located on both the Stalls and Dress Circle levels.

  • Hearing Loop

    Hearing Loop is available in the Stalls and Dress Circle. Please note, only highlighted seats have hearing loop reception. View hearing loop map. Patrons should adjust their hearing aids to "T" for reception.

    If you are unable to access the hearing loop, the theatre can also provide you with an “Intelligent DSP RF Receiver (150MHZ)” which you can wear around your neck for the duration of the performance. The RF Receiver works in all theatre seats. You can adjust your hearing aid to “T” for reception or if this is not possible, we can also provide you with a headset to plug into that device. Please note, we have limited devices available, however will do our best to assist you on your visit.

  • Service Dogs

    Accredited service dogs are allowed to enter the theatre upon presentation of accreditation proof. Service dogs must remain on the floor at all times. 

  • Virtual Tour

    Virtual Tour
    Our virtual tour lets you walk through our auditorium before you come for your visit. This shows you what the theatre looks like without a production on stage. When you arrive, the production's set, lighting and sound equipment will help bring the theatre to life.

Distance from Seat to Stage

For patrons with a visual impairment the distance between the centre seat in the specified row and the stage, measured from safety curtain, is:

  • Stalls, Row AA - approximately 6 metres
  • Stalls, Row D - approximately 12 metres
  • Stalls, Row H - approximately 16 metres
  • Dress Circle, Row A - approximately 19.5 metres

Stalls seating starts to gradually incline from Row B right to the back of the Stalls. Patrons will be at eye level with the Stage at around Row E-G. View the Capitol Theatre seating plan.

Seat Size

Our seat cushions are 420x420mm with armrests that are 520mm in length.

Seats without arms can be booked if required for accessibility via our Box Office.
